My Gout Diet Experiment

There is not a lot of true information available for gout and what has been said has not been updated for many years or any experiments been carried out. Only that of new medications, yet gout is still on the rise.

First find the reason why you have gout? So that you have the correct treatment for the cause and not the symptom.

  • Taking drugs caused the gout
  • If you have kidney disease or liver issues
  • If your gout is induced by excess of beer and poor lifestyle
  • Resulting from injury
  • Or hereditary making you more susceptible to gout

Its your body adapting to your lifestyle and food choices, if NOT controlled, then you are at high risk of kidney, liver and heart problems. The right big toe is where most people first get their gout attack.

"Individuals often learn what causes their own gout attacks"

After suffering from gout reading many cures for gout and trying many things over many years this is how I stopped and reversed my gout. It not quick and its a life change and in-fact this not only cures gout, it cures all diseases.

Have you followed any gout diet 100% and still suffering?

History

1. Part of the explanation for gout was first discovered when bread and beer was daily diet in Egypt.

2. 100 years ago, diseases, obesity and allergies were less common.

3. The last 60 years’ wheat has been modified and grown using pesticides for maximum production and is in the ingredients of processed foods we over eat every day. (Cereals, cereal snack bars, bread, crisp-bread, muffin’s, pizza, noodles, pies, biscuits, savory snack foods, crackers, pasta, packaged soups) Animals have been fed corn (Possibly GM) to fatten quickly and cheaply. Causing inflammation and ill heath, in turn given antibiotics.

4. The last 50 years the FSA has been telling us to eat a low-fat diet and more fibre from whole grains. The supermarkets have followed this trend, with food like products with misleading labels on packets of processed foods, which we have been buying as it has become convenient. Yet disease (including gout) has been rising.

Gout caused in large by eating a large intake of wheat products and drinking beer, with a low intake of nutrition from grass fed meats, fish, fresh local fruit and veg.

Increase of gout from western modern eating - Probably being exposed to something that sets of high levels of uric acid. Could it be heavily processed foods; wheat, beer, cereals, fast foods and that grains demineralizing us from an low intake of nutrition from what we should be eating - Freshly grown fruit & veg, high fat, grass fed meats that are very high in nutrition and not from corn fed cow's.

First before changing your lifestyle and diet, you need to just remove certain foods from your diet 1 or 2 at a time, to make slow changes to stop uric acid rising.

"This works for those with the right mindset - If you are told to start cooking healthy meals and start to think, that that will take up your time. Then you have failed at the first hurdle"

Nutrition for Gout

Fat - is an energy source that when consumed, increases the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins including vitamins A, D, E and K.

Essential fat - The body needs fat. Not the greasy pastry and pie type, but the essential omega-3 and omega-6 fats. (Eat at least 50% more omega-3 than 6) If you have a dry, itchy scalp or skin, you may not be eating enough of these. They are called 'essential' fats because the body can't make them; you must eat them.

Protein - is the major structural component of cells and is responsible for the building and repair of body tissues.

Carbohydrates - are found in all food groups apart from fats and oils. And should come primarily from fruits and vegetables. Which provide your body with essential vitamins, minerals and fibre. (Wheat and sugar raise insulin level, with wheat raising higher than sugar)

Vitamins - Vitamin C is necessary for the synthesis of collagen, which provides structure to blood vessels, bone and ligaments. Vitamin D helps to maintain calcium homeostasis. It can be found in food sources or synthesized by the sun.

Minerals - Sodium helps to maintain fluid volume outside of the cells and helps cells to function normally. Potassium maintains fluid volume inside and outside of cells and prevents the excessive rise of blood pressure with increased sodium “Table salt” intake. (Sea salt and Himalayan salts are fine and contain minerals) Rich sources include bananas, potatoes, avocados and tomatoes. Calcium helps to maintain and build strong bones and teeth. Hair, nails and skin can also suffer if you're lacking in iron.

Start of your common sense diet to;
Detox, reset your gut and lower inflammation

Week 1:
  1. Start by removing all wheat and cereals from your diet. (Bread, pasta, pizza, bagel's, biscuits, cup cakes and breakfast cereals)

Week 2:
  1. Remove sugar and processed foods. (Fizzy drinks, pies, cakes, ready meals)

  6. Use good fats for cooking - Coconut oil and ghee
Week 4:
  1. 3 day juice* only and eat raw (*This will depend on how many years you have suffered from gout. For each year you have had gout, is a juice day. 10 years + 10 days juice and eat only raw and more veg then fruit)
  2. While juice and any after - drink ginger and lemon tea, green tea, drop of apple cider vinegar with filtered or mineral water.
  3. After your juicing - you will need to introduce solid foods again. Start with making bone broth, adding vegetables and blending for 2 days.
Week 5:
  1. Continue eating with the foods removed listed above and eat more fat from avocados and grass fed meats.
  2. Add more fruit & veg that are fresh, local and in season (More that are high in vitamin C)

  7. Eat in a 8 hour window ( Breakfast at 9 am then last meal at 5 pm)
Add back to your diet one at a time say one thing per week and see how your gout reacts.
  • Coffee (Good organic or from high altitude)
  • Dairy (Full fat raw)
  • Nightshades; Potatoes, tomoatos, pepers.........
Providing you don't return to your old ways, including plenty of healthy whole grains, beer, low fat, processed meats you are essentially cured.

Now continue the following:

Eat:

1. Organic vegetables and salad – especially high in vitamin C. Orange bell peppers. (eat fruit in low amounts – kiwi fruits high in Vit C) Locally brought and in season.

2. Juicing – green mean. By juicing you are putting vitamins and minerals directly and quickly in to you blood stream, so your body can absorb easily and helps clean veins.

3. Homemade bone broth from grass fed cows or organic free range chickens. And make soups from it. Bone broth is a source of minerals, like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium, in forms that your body can easily absorb. It’s also rich in glycine and proline, amino acids not found in significant amounts in muscle meat (the vast majority of the meat we consume). It also contains chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine, the compounds sold as supplements to reduce inflammation, arthritis, and joint pain. Finally, “soup bones” include collagen, a protein found in connective tissue of vertebrate animals, which is abundant in bone, marrow, cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.

4. Good fats from grass fed meats, wild salmon coconut oil, avocados, olive oil, walnuts, ghee, butter from grass fed cows and/or raw

5. Eggs from organic free range chickens.

6. Turmeric – make golden paste to absorb the benefits. Turmeric, coconut oil and pepper.

7. Supplements – cod liver oil

Avoid eating:

1. Processed foods (Pies, cakes, packet foods, ready meals, sausages, fast food, junk food)

2. Wheat and lower your intake of grains (Even cutting out at least for the first month) As grains have shown particularly wheat and cereals that they stop you from absorbing vitamins, minerals and fat and then demineralize your bones, hair, teeth and nails.

3. Fizzy drinks and beer.

4. Vegetable, soya, rapeseed oils and margarine.

5. Milk (Unless full fat raw is best)

Exercise - Cycling is better if you have gout in your big toe.
