Only an hour from Ibague.
The geographical setting of the village comprises a series of mountain slopes, where articulate small flat areas formed by materials in rainy seasons, that are located in the foothills and have permanent water of small creeks which running perpendicular to the direction of geographic valley sense. The area around San Juan Valley is composed of fertile soil in which valleys and plains are denoted and where you can see large crops of corn; its main agricultural product. There are also rivers and streams that punctuate the landscape with a forest of medium height.

Nice beach, few people and Cubans, can get busy at Cuban holiday time, is a nice place to relax.
You can make this a day trip, 65km northwest of Viñales and is attached to the mainland by a causeway.
You can ask your casa owner in Vinales to book a taxi to take you and arrange a time to return.

Taxi from Viñales $15 cuc each, (5 people) for 6 hours on the beach.
Food 8 cuc, Beer $1.50, Mojito $2.50.
Where you get drooped off and walk on to the beach at Cayo Jutias, you can walk to the right along the beach and though a tiny mangrove covered area and find the beach above.
The city is located in the centre of the country on the Eastern slope of the central Colombian Andes. Where many foreign tourists ONLY stop at the bus station in Ibagué on route to Armenia & Cali from Bogota.
Ibagué can seem an urban chaos with the amount of buses and the noise they make, but there's an increased appreciation for those who do find their way here............
Whilst Colombia has a tourist trail with no stop in Ibague, you could make the effort to stay & visit something different? It is perfectly located for those who wish to get of the beaten path as you will only be 1 hour from this mainly undiscovered region of paradise, that is still unknown to many foreigners, it’s beauty is matched by nature, history, culture, food and people. Where you will find the Antigua town of Rovira, the villages of Valle de San Juan, Payande,Villa Restrepoand so much more to see like rivers, waterfalls, gorges, mountains, visit cantinas, coffee farms (Fincas) and get immersed in …
