Hi, It's Martin "The Travelling Mechanic" Welcome to my site. I'm so glad you're here!
No matter your dreams or obstacles, you have the power to be unstoppable. I sincerely hope my Blog can help you do just that.
I have been sharing the lessons I have learned, the challenges I have faced whilst travelling the world and how to give up everything "a non-conventional lifestyle" to travel, but to gain a lot more!

“A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for.” — John A. Shedd. Take a chance in life.

People often ask me which is your favorite country?
Maybe I haven't been there yet! Is hard to say that one country is my favorite in the world. I tend to go to where it's hot and Latin "it's where I am drawn too" I often think I was a pirate in my last life! - for me it is the people, they are full of life and it's easy to love them back.

"I'm not interested in travelling to as many countries as possible, I'd rather travel slow and enjoy the time in each place. I have travelled to the same country many times "

I have a list of my favorite country's that I have been to more than once:
A great country to travel to, is somewhere that has a lot to offer, culture and history are for me the most important to have - you need to feel good while exploring and wanting to stay longer. Of course, culture and history mean; different foods to try, music to listen to, along with learning the history and geography of the country you are exploring. A beach or lake with views is always a great bonus for somewhere to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

It just depends on what you like and what you want to do when travelling? Other country's I have enjoyed and have meaning to me:
Next places of interest to visit on my list:
For the culture, food and to know the people
  • Copper Canyon Mexico
  • Angel Falls Venezuela
  • Guyana
  • French Guyane
  • North & East Paris

  • Teaching English is one of the most popular ways to earn extra money. But means being stuck in one place for a long time - Colombia is a country opening up to tourism and with it slowly growing businesses are investing. Meaning Colombians wish to learn English. Ibague in Tolima is where you can teach English and study Spanish.
  • Voluntary work in exchange for meals and a roof over your head.
  • Alternatively, you could transform your work and life into something that can be sustained long-term, both on the road and if/when your travel comes to an end.
